About Me

Hi, I'm Wensupu "Wen" Yang — an AI startup founder, futurist and foresight consultant, writer, and lifelong learner.

I founded KWiM to explore the "knowledge problem" — specifically, how large language models (LLMs) can extend human cognition. The big question driving my work has always been: How can we augment and extend our thinking with AI? While KWiM is currently evolving, I continue to work at the intersection of AI, cognition, and knowledge work, drawing inspiration from fields like retrieval-augmented generation, extended cognition, and information architecture.

Outside of my startup journey, I also work as a futurist and foresight consultant. I'm passionate about helping individuals and organizations navigate uncertainty, adapt to change, and build future-ready strategies. I'm currently an Associate at SAMI Consulting.

I'm originally from a small mountain town in Southwest China and studied Management Science at UC San Diego before moving to London, where I'm now based. Before pivoting to tech and foresight, I worked in energy and compliance consulting in China.

I'm a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (FRSA), a Member of the British Computer Society (MBCS), and an Emerging Fellow at the Association of Professional Futurists (APF). I speak both Chinese and English.

When I'm not reading, writing, or building, I'm usually diving into one of my many random hobbies — like home fermentation, inventing fusion recipes, hiking, learning improv acting, exploring algorave (algorithmic art and music), and more.
